<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am happy to report the camping quiet book page is finally complete! These little buggers take a lot longer than one would think. I think for the next couple pages I'm going to keep it really simple...whew this thing took FOREVER!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-scTZXIUz9aE/Vf9zQtjqY7I/AAAAAAAACu0/JArJni_1QdM/s1600/IMG_5313.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-scTZXIUz9aE/Vf9zQtjqY7I/AAAAAAAACu0/JArJni_1QdM/s400/IMG_5313.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
But I will say the second my little boy is about to have a tantrum in the middle of church, this little puppy comes in really handy especially this page that has a million little things to do...like catch fish, build a fire, hang clothes on the line and I even made a fancy little camper guy that we lovingly named Cleetis (the name suits him rather well) that they can play with. And you can get pretty creative too... like cooking fish over the fire or shoving the clothes in the tent or the laundry into the fish basket or having the farm animals from the <a href="http://crafty-couple.blogspot.com/2014/08/quiet-book-pages-123-and-4.html">other page</a> come visit...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gKvHHiCVZqE/Vf9yq6TwWFI/AAAAAAAACuw/0xAnyWZ6rX0/s1600/IMG_5311.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;">j<img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gKvHHiCVZqE/Vf9yq6TwWFI/AAAAAAAACuw/0xAnyWZ6rX0/s400/IMG_5311.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These really are a lot of work but also very rewarding to put together. I can still remember playing with the one my Mom made for me and my siblings and have very fond memories of playing with it during those long church meetings. It really has been a lifesaver! Sadly I don't have a tutorial to go along with this post but I hope you got some ideas at least. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Kids are the funnest to sew for, they easily get excited over the smallest things like monster truck fabric! I hope he stays this easy to please forever cuz it's sooo much fun. He's been a champ lately and has been saving his money up and wanted a place to keep it like his big sisters with all of their purses and bags. So we came up with this monster truck wallet and he loves it! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XHI2uWau4uk/VRS8gJtLWiI/AAAAAAAACsc/mYNN0embER4/s1600/IMG_4507.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XHI2uWau4uk/VRS8gJtLWiI/AAAAAAAACsc/mYNN0embER4/s1600/IMG_4507.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YG6IkCo5YtQ/VRS6mPVew5I/AAAAAAAACsA/u9qBWYIshaI/s1600/IMG_4506.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YG6IkCo5YtQ/VRS6mPVew5I/AAAAAAAACsA/u9qBWYIshaI/s1600/IMG_4506.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Really quite simple to throw together and doesn't require much fabric at all. If you have some various scraps laying around, they'll do the trick for this project.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QaThsGUjDu4/VRS8EWQSBFI/AAAAAAAACsM/ePT3DlMcLrU/s1600/IMG_4509.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QaThsGUjDu4/VRS8EWQSBFI/AAAAAAAACsM/ePT3DlMcLrU/s1600/IMG_4509.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's lined with vinyl on the back in hopes to have it be a little more durable..boys tend to be a little rough on things. It also makes it a little more sturdy so it keeps it's shape a little better too. I bought about a yard of clear vinyl a few yrs back and have used it for a handful of projects..great stuff to have on hand ;)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DHtUYkc8AIM/VRS84pAW-1I/AAAAAAAACss/JtZoK0tRgP8/s1600/IMG_4511.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DHtUYkc8AIM/VRS84pAW-1I/AAAAAAAACss/JtZoK0tRgP8/s1600/IMG_4511.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And it folds right up so he can slip it in his back pocket or in the glove compartment of his new electric gator truck...yep he's pretty cool!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BHlJsIz1QqY/VRS9FVS5XaI/AAAAAAAACs0/1SE0HS1vYBs/s1600/IMG_4516.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BHlJsIz1QqY/VRS9FVS5XaI/AAAAAAAACs0/1SE0HS1vYBs/s1600/IMG_4516.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I thought it would be fun to make a pocket for a driver's license pic. You can't really tell but the orange frame has vinyl inside so you can put a photo in. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1SZS8ticfqw/VRS-WH6AGWI/AAAAAAAACtA/TTGJZ4Y0hfc/s1600/IMG_4498.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1SZS8ticfqw/VRS-WH6AGWI/AAAAAAAACtA/TTGJZ4Y0hfc/s1600/IMG_4498.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
What you will need:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Two coordinating fabrics</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Vinyl</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Bias tape</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and the usual scissors, thread, sewing machine... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You'll want to start by cutting out your rectangles that will make the basic shape of your wallet.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Mine were 10 1/2 " by 5"</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(cut one out of front fabric, one back fabric and one vinyl)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now you can start on the pockets. You can make it to your liking mine were.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Two 4" by 3" (monster truck fabric and orange framed vinyl)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One 3 1/2" by 4 1/2" (monster truck fabric)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One 3 1/2" by 4" (orange)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One 3 1/2" by 3" (orange)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
That's a total of five pockets.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OvwL9bHXNFU/VRS-sGQwdfI/AAAAAAAACtQ/nB3tJn2hnYU/s1600/IMG_4500.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OvwL9bHXNFU/VRS-sGQwdfI/AAAAAAAACtQ/nB3tJn2hnYU/s1600/IMG_4500.JPG" height="213" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Any edges of pockets that will be showing need to be hemmed. I find it easiest to iron them down and then sew. Then you can start sewing them down to the big orange rectangle you cut out earlier.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7nz3FF8y8O8/VRS-gTnqAEI/AAAAAAAACtI/qmTgsfrDTPQ/s1600/IMG_4499.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7nz3FF8y8O8/VRS-gTnqAEI/AAAAAAAACtI/qmTgsfrDTPQ/s1600/IMG_4499.JPG" height="320" width="213" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once your pockets are all sewn down it's time to sew all three rectangles together. Vinyl on bottom, outer fabric (monster truck) and then orange. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Wp-O_ekvkYM/VRS-6J6U86I/AAAAAAAACtY/dQsDexCcdbM/s1600/IMG_4502.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Wp-O_ekvkYM/VRS-6J6U86I/AAAAAAAACtY/dQsDexCcdbM/s1600/IMG_4502.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found it easiest to tape mine together to hold them in place and then pin the bias tape around the entire thing and sew down. ( I tend to get excited at the end of a project and forget to take pics...sorry)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IsAUAAC8vBg/VRS_FIieY-I/AAAAAAAACtg/apCE-1XHt5o/s1600/IMG_4504.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-IsAUAAC8vBg/VRS_FIieY-I/AAAAAAAACtg/apCE-1XHt5o/s1600/IMG_4504.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's it! Your little boy will love you forever.</div>
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XHI2uWau4uk/VRS8gJtLWiI/AAAAAAAACsc/mYNN0embER4/s1600/IMG_4507.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"> <img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XHI2uWau4uk/VRS8gJtLWiI/AAAAAAAACsc/mYNN0embER4/s1600/IMG_4507.JPG" height="213" width="320" /></a>Crafty Couplehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06065025713515765065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8014900619770492148.post-65715742628158159432015-03-04T09:15:00.002-08:002015-03-05T08:48:45.809-08:00Raising Chickens For Beginners<div style="text-align: center;">
Last spring we got into the chicken business and it has been quite an adventure! I grew up taking care of chickens on the farm and have been wanting to get some of my own for a while now. We went into our local Cal-Ranch and each of my kids picked out their baby chick. I had heard Rhode Island Reds were a good breed and they have proven that to be true. They have been the best little chickens and regularly have eggs for me, even in the winter! They are nice as can be to boot.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rRF5YMZxvBw/VPc5AJxSdlI/AAAAAAAACqk/XxkFL1_Fr_w/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B068.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-rRF5YMZxvBw/VPc5AJxSdlI/AAAAAAAACqk/XxkFL1_Fr_w/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B068.JPG" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<span id="goog_292392236"></span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The other two chicks we picked out were Ameraucana because I always loved the beautiful greeeny blue eggs they would lay and sometimes they even lay pink eggs....WHAT!!! That's a dream come true..or so I thought. Our reds were laying consistent eggs and still no blue/green eggs and they were feisty (especially one of them) then we were hearing faint crowing ummm yep we got a rooster! A really really feisty rooster that likes to attack my kids and I a lot...but mostly me :/ So we donated him to my Mom, who has a barn and a big run for him to get his wiggles out. We are down to three chickens and only two that lay until..just this last month almost a year later we got a beautiful blue/green egg!!!! Ameraucana's mature later than most like up to 40 weeks but it was worth the wait. Just do a little research before you purchase your chicks to make sure you're getting what you want and be prepared for a rooster, apparently they get thrown into the bunch frequently.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Z1z2K7qoSh8/VPc1xS1TChI/AAAAAAAACqM/vi1ifhaRbFA/s1600/IMG_4578.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Z1z2K7qoSh8/VPc1xS1TChI/AAAAAAAACqM/vi1ifhaRbFA/s1600/IMG_4578.JPG" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
We found a great little coop online for a decent price from Costco, it is a little snug for three chickens and was super snug for three chickens and a huge rooster. If you are looking to have more than three you would need something bigger than this. We had planned on building our own but my husband was booked with work and my kids and I just couldn't wait. We just let them out a lot in the summer and their favorite hangout...the garden. (I'm in love with this pic)</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zUi78QN5-LE/VPc5T8tF3bI/AAAAAAAACqs/_LDWpsn7hRo/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B173.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zUi78QN5-LE/VPc5T8tF3bI/AAAAAAAACqs/_LDWpsn7hRo/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B173.JPG" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you are planning to get chicks in the spring, like we did be prepared to either have them inside or under a heat lamp until they get big enough to withstand the cold temps. While you are picking out your chicks make sure and get some chick starter and we also got a two gallon waterer so they wouldn't be falling in and making a mess. Chickens poop a TON so be prepared and get some sort of bedding to keep them clean (we used pine wood shavings). While we are on the subject of poop...umm baby chicks get a condition called poopy butt (ok that's just what we called it). It's for real and it happened to all four of our chicks. This can be serious so be sure you treat them right away if you're noticing anything. Ours were very vocal about, it's like they were chirping MY TUMMY HURTS! We just gave them a little warm bath, my kids actually loved it. They look so cute just standing in their bath just soakin their little bums for a while. And I saved the best for last...you have to wipe them afterwards. YEP super gross but super necessary.</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="" src="http://www.familiesraisingchickens.com/images/baby_chick_waterer.jpg" height="193" id="yui_3_5_1_4_1425488732015_733" style="height: 286px; width: 295px;" width="200" /></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's about it. We eventually put them on grain and let them roam around the yard in the summer to eat whatever they can find. We have had a lot of fun with them and have really been enjoying all of our farm fresh eggs!</div>
<br />
<br />

Ummmm hello! It's been a little while...the blogging might be slow but that doesn't mean the projects have stopped around here! I have about fifteen things I could post right now. Since the pumpkin rolls are the most fallish I'm doing these. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They are deliciously sweet with a hint of pumpkin flavor and surprisingly easy. Perfect for your Thanks Giving dinner table.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I8GT0IVknPM/VGeOsqtgBMI/AAAAAAAACng/GqcJapJh5GU/s1600/IMG_4542.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I8GT0IVknPM/VGeOsqtgBMI/AAAAAAAACng/GqcJapJh5GU/s1600/IMG_4542.JPG" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
My kids sat and watched them poof up..we were all curious to see if they would actually look like pumpkins..we were pleasantly surprised! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bIKZ5LLbUqI/VGeOxjkUO4I/AAAAAAAACno/TWDYMlrLxoM/s1600/IMG_4544.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bIKZ5LLbUqI/VGeOxjkUO4I/AAAAAAAACno/TWDYMlrLxoM/s1600/IMG_4544.JPG" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
See...really pleased with the results!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i0eJ6ijA6Nw/VGeO_61MnNI/AAAAAAAACnw/pH85lULclqE/s1600/IMG_4546.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i0eJ6ijA6Nw/VGeO_61MnNI/AAAAAAAACnw/pH85lULclqE/s1600/IMG_4546.JPG" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
And little helpers can get in on the action too, they feel so proud of themselves when they get to help. <br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q8F13a-2M4A/U_S7n06QyuI/AAAAAAAACig/q3HZYpyd5zQ/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B138.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q8F13a-2M4A/U_S7n06QyuI/AAAAAAAACig/q3HZYpyd5zQ/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B138.jpg" height="380" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This has been a long time coming quiet book, like I mentioned before it was started before we moved and am now just finishing my first set of pages. I will give fair warning...making a quiet book is not for the faint of heart! They are a lot of work but soooo worth it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ktya7zx8DsU/U_S7qc9CEaI/AAAAAAAACis/bB6fUI_osCo/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B149.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Ktya7zx8DsU/U_S7qc9CEaI/AAAAAAAACis/bB6fUI_osCo/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B149.jpg" height="425" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The little personalized details are my favorite part...they take a little longer but why make your own if it's not "your own".</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AY2XTSENdfQ/U_S7qU_L_LI/AAAAAAAACio/il_9YA1y8FU/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B150.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AY2XTSENdfQ/U_S7qU_L_LI/AAAAAAAACio/il_9YA1y8FU/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B150.jpg" height="448" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Every quiet book needs an apple picking page..it was my favorite growing up and it looks so darn cute. Their tiny fingers can pick the apples and load them up into the wagon.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-L6Z-hkDR_-8/U_S7sTzgAOI/AAAAAAAACi4/DNx2wnI9HBc/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B151.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-L6Z-hkDR_-8/U_S7sTzgAOI/AAAAAAAACi4/DNx2wnI9HBc/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B151.jpg" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We live on the family farm and my boys absolutely loooove it! They can't get enough of tractors, combines, spray planes, gators and surprisingly water trucks. Yep water trucks we have a water truck that keeps the dust down during harvest and my boys love riding with their Grandpa in it...so of course the quiet book had to have it's very own water truck.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--6DWBwuQJcA/U_S7tWazGkI/AAAAAAAACjA/0rKAKc-nKqQ/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B152.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--6DWBwuQJcA/U_S7tWazGkI/AAAAAAAACjA/0rKAKc-nKqQ/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B152.jpg" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I like for the pages to be hands on so I came up with a way to fill the truck up with water and it works pretty well...luckily their little fingers are pretty sticky and can grip the plastic to fill it up.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ITn0ZHH5miw/U_S7vABTLsI/AAAAAAAACjI/IbZFijjpk_I/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B155.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ITn0ZHH5miw/U_S7vABTLsI/AAAAAAAACjI/IbZFijjpk_I/s1600/fancy%2Bcamera%2Bpics%2B155.jpg" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We don't have a lot of animals on the farm...just chickens as of this spring but every good farm quiet book needs a barn full of animals. These are finger puppet animals and went together really quickly if you're interested in a quick project. The little chicks on top are hiding behind their eggs.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FNGorLsZY9E/U_TAjqdfcbI/AAAAAAAACjY/3DxvyKMhwGs/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FNGorLsZY9E/U_TAjqdfcbI/AAAAAAAACjY/3DxvyKMhwGs/s1600/004.JPG" height="425" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Last but not least they crop duster page...this airplane took ummm way too long! I kept not liking the way it was looking so I added more and more which is usually a bad idea but I quite like the way in turned out.. it's growing on me. The row of beets I absolutely love and they were pretty quick.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YSeGPh3Uh6E/U_TAuF-S_UI/AAAAAAAACjg/nUOQ3H3Ye3g/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YSeGPh3Uh6E/U_TAuF-S_UI/AAAAAAAACjg/nUOQ3H3Ye3g/s1600/005.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My favorite part is that you can pull them out of the ground...my boys love this feature also.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DLYS1JRVOO0/U_TAylKEOuI/AAAAAAAACjo/HPczPlvPpMw/s1600/006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DLYS1JRVOO0/U_TAylKEOuI/AAAAAAAACjo/HPczPlvPpMw/s1600/006.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A whole row of cute little sugar beets.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JJYDjnYWDpw/U_TAy487_FI/AAAAAAAACjs/plam5wm5Ha8/s1600/007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JJYDjnYWDpw/U_TAy487_FI/AAAAAAAACjs/plam5wm5Ha8/s1600/007.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And of course a close up of the plane that was almost a disaster! It is triple layered and stuffed so they can pull it off and fly it around.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3CyRz7qJHg4/U_TA2DdJi-I/AAAAAAAACj4/ckvm4VPgerk/s1600/008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3CyRz7qJHg4/U_TA2DdJi-I/AAAAAAAACj4/ckvm4VPgerk/s1600/008.JPG" height="426" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And next up for the quiet book...miniature clothes pins and this fabric that was given to me..we'll see what happens.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With the kids back in school hopefully I can find some spare time to post all of the projects we have been up too including the rest of the quiet book! You may have noticed my pics are a little higher quality...eeeek, umm yeah my uncle just gave me his Canon Rebel dslr!!! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now to figure out how to use it.</div>
Crafty Couplehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06065025713515765065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8014900619770492148.post-39777359602576249132014-07-08T22:33:00.000-07:002014-07-08T22:33:20.661-07:00Peplum Shirt Refashion<div style="text-align: center;">
I decided to make matching peplum tops for my girls and I love the way they turned out. The hardest part was figuring out the math..I may need a little refresher in Geometry.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xo1iunrAJss/U7ywH7LOq0I/AAAAAAAAChI/G7wo41BPsvo/s1600/IMG_4324.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xo1iunrAJss/U7ywH7LOq0I/AAAAAAAAChI/G7wo41BPsvo/s1600/IMG_4324.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Of course they love how flowy and twirly they are. This fabric was cheap, cheap so I bought the entire bolt...maybe I will need a matching flowy skirt.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2md_WIc7A7c/U7ywL89uPBI/AAAAAAAAChQ/JDtdgFRkbcs/s1600/IMG_4326.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2md_WIc7A7c/U7ywL89uPBI/AAAAAAAAChQ/JDtdgFRkbcs/s1600/IMG_4326.jpg" height="305" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They went together really quickly after I figured out the math and the best part...no hemming and I even got away with no ironing :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3cJ0zz8qIHQ/U7ywdJrojLI/AAAAAAAAChg/scC1_3pzHpY/s1600/IMG_4320.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3cJ0zz8qIHQ/U7ywdJrojLI/AAAAAAAAChg/scC1_3pzHpY/s1600/IMG_4320.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I couldn't find any shirts in the little girl's section that fit the bill so I found these in the women's dept. They were a little big but I figured they could wear them longer that way. Added a couple flowers and just a little fabric at the top to tie in the color.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JGW16oHVJEQ/U7ywb0SGLiI/AAAAAAAAChY/Ix_vD25I2oI/s1600/IMG_4323.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JGW16oHVJEQ/U7ywb0SGLiI/AAAAAAAAChY/Ix_vD25I2oI/s1600/IMG_4323.jpg" height="400" width="380" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This fabric is seriously the best..I may have to make some flowers for their hair to match. It just ruffled up all perfect and...well flower like.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YEXizb6GHTQ/U7ywmCilaWI/AAAAAAAACho/qgkBD6tPXsU/s1600/IMG_4321.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YEXizb6GHTQ/U7ywmCilaWI/AAAAAAAACho/qgkBD6tPXsU/s1600/IMG_4321.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you're interested in making a peplum top click on read more for the tutorial.</div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Start by cutting the shirt right at the hip. Now you have to figure out your math...you will need to cut a donut shape out of the fabric that will be added to the bottom. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9cConjIKT9A/U7ywtxAUxuI/AAAAAAAAChw/_JyV9aVmEU8/s1600/IMG_4316.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-9cConjIKT9A/U7ywtxAUxuI/AAAAAAAAChw/_JyV9aVmEU8/s1600/IMG_4316.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<br />
The inner circle of the donut will need to be the same circumference as the opening of the bottom of your shirt. So measure across the bottom of your shirt, this measurement is the diameter.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mGicvAJuTAY/U7zM11k_eiI/AAAAAAAACiA/2NKh2hszQVY/s1600/IMG_4316.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mGicvAJuTAY/U7zM11k_eiI/AAAAAAAACiA/2NKh2hszQVY/s1600/IMG_4316.jpg" height="300" width="400" /> </a></div>
21divided by 2 =10.5 This is the radius<br />
<br />
Mark the center of the fabric and measure the length of the radius from the center point all the way around until you make the full circle. Now do the same from the circle (only measure the length you want your skirt to be, mine was 5") you just made until you make the outer circle and cut out. Attach right sides together and sew.<br />
<br />
That's it. Enjoy your new shirt or shirts!!<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zMVsop7iJUo/U7NSyd-I_ZI/AAAAAAAACgw/fxR7OogLZy8/s1600/IMG_4305.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zMVsop7iJUo/U7NSyd-I_ZI/AAAAAAAACgw/fxR7OogLZy8/s1600/IMG_4305.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Soooo summer is super busy and also SUPER FUN!! We have been having a fabulous time just chillaxin, swimming, getting sun burnt (me), making popsicles...and crafting up a storm. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yay us!</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iGOCK2mbJyU/U7NSx0U17pI/AAAAAAAACgo/7_5SDQkZ-X8/s1600/IMG_4311.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iGOCK2mbJyU/U7NSx0U17pI/AAAAAAAACgo/7_5SDQkZ-X8/s1600/IMG_4311.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My little girl has been browsing my kid craft Pinterest boards and is very ambitious...she managed to pull this one off in about an hr. We made our caterpillar out of an old oatmeal canister and painted it with acryllics.We cut all of the food out of a mixture of felt and foam...just what we had on hand.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oaSwzVzsiGc/U7NSwxdhoqI/AAAAAAAACgk/A1eIkzVVfLU/s1600/IMG_4314.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-oaSwzVzsiGc/U7NSwxdhoqI/AAAAAAAACgk/A1eIkzVVfLU/s1600/IMG_4314.jpg" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
All my kids have been enjoying this one, especially my youngest he thinks it is too fun to put the food in himself as we read through the story.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
I have tons of projects ready to be posted...living room collage wall, peplum shirts for my girls, farm quiet book and curtains with DIY rods...so I will be back soon.</div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TNaKNaTb278/U4X7ElimbSI/AAAAAAAACdc/WDoRvBJKQPE/s1600/teacher+gift.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TNaKNaTb278/U4X7ElimbSI/AAAAAAAACdc/WDoRvBJKQPE/s1600/teacher+gift.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am loving the way our teacher gifts turned out so I had to share even though it's a little late. I saw something similar on Pinterest and had to make it my own. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SpGqgWGqj-A/U4X7TRbGFEI/AAAAAAAACdk/bCwKmxXlgt8/s1600/IMG_4278.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SpGqgWGqj-A/U4X7TRbGFEI/AAAAAAAACdk/bCwKmxXlgt8/s1600/IMG_4278.JPG" height="300" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We thought a little apple charm would be kinda cute but couldn't find any so my genius Mom suggested we make them out of Sculpey and they turned out soooo cute! I will do a separate post on sculpey charms cuz we will for sure be making more.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rFbnpnpnDIg/U4X7i8G2v6I/AAAAAAAACds/MzosiG8mffo/s1600/IMG_4284.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rFbnpnpnDIg/U4X7i8G2v6I/AAAAAAAACds/MzosiG8mffo/s1600/IMG_4284.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought my ruler and chain at Wal Mart for cheap...under a dollar for both. And used a hand saw to cut them into one inch sections. I stained mine with a light stain just to make the wood grain stand out a little more, then attached the metal loop to the top with super glue. I had these on hand but you can find them at most craft stores or you could drill a hole.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bS5djZXehzA/U4X7kK7WwAI/AAAAAAAACd0/Ufn-fR2UH7s/s1600/IMG_4283.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bS5djZXehzA/U4X7kK7WwAI/AAAAAAAACd0/Ufn-fR2UH7s/s1600/IMG_4283.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I attached a little note on the back with mod podge and then gave the whole thing a couple coats to make it shine a little. For the apples a little spritz of clear gloss spray paint gave them a shine as well. These were fun to make and hopefully our teachers enjoy them too!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OUQbeS9aE44/U3-UzLUvZ3I/AAAAAAAACcg/ZWtiIXZVIRg/s1600/IMG_4267.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OUQbeS9aE44/U3-UzLUvZ3I/AAAAAAAACcg/ZWtiIXZVIRg/s1600/IMG_4267.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
We have been trying to eat a little more healthy around here which includes eating less sugar :( I am a sugar addict so my new best friends are honey, real maple syrup and dark chocolate. When I find a recipe that includes at least one of these ingredients and looks like a cookie of sorts I'm all over it!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N0shaI8TthE/U3-U5VVfk7I/AAAAAAAACco/D9QG-2tF0vk/s1600/IMG_4268.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-N0shaI8TthE/U3-U5VVfk7I/AAAAAAAACco/D9QG-2tF0vk/s1600/IMG_4268.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
They are really simple and no bake which is a win win in the summer...ummm yeah we don't have AC.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-02_rsYuHiac/U3-VAeBt1-I/AAAAAAAACcw/7ix2J_3wNdk/s1600/IMG_4265.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-02_rsYuHiac/U3-VAeBt1-I/AAAAAAAACcw/7ix2J_3wNdk/s1600/IMG_4265.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Of course you can change it up to your liking, throw in your favorites.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_W5qItStdC0/U3-VFm4g_FI/AAAAAAAACc4/6sRRl-k0oso/s1600/IMG_4269.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_W5qItStdC0/U3-VFm4g_FI/AAAAAAAACc4/6sRRl-k0oso/s1600/IMG_4269.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Even this picky little toddler approved and yes, he's a boy and no, I most definitely will not be cutting his curls.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7tXhcixuzco/U3-VJwHSQtI/AAAAAAAACdA/prqiXdEhS90/s1600/IMG_4272.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7tXhcixuzco/U3-VJwHSQtI/AAAAAAAACdA/prqiXdEhS90/s1600/IMG_4272.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Oh and one of our new favorite snacks is frozen Greek yogurt with honey and blue berries...really yummy.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Almond Nut and Seed Energy Bars</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1 cup oats </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3 cups nuts and seeds </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(suggested combination 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, 1/4 cup each cashew pieces, pumpkin seeds, almond slices and toasted watermelon seeds)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 cup almond butter</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/4 cup honey</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1/2 tsp vanilla</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Line 8x8-inch pan with wax paper or tin foil, extending the paper over two opposing sides of pan to use as handles later. In a medium bowl, combine oats, nuts, and seeds. In a 2 quart saucepan over medium-low, heat the almond butter, honey and vanilla for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add oats, seeds and nuts to almond butter mixture and stir to evenly coat. Pour the mixture into the baking dish and pack firmly into an even layer. Let mixture stand until firm, about an hr. Using wax paper handles lift out mixture. Cut into twelve rectangles Store in refrigerator. Makes 12 bars</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We added craisins and some chocolate chips would be good too. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Enjoy</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Spring is officially here at our house and yesterday felt like summer. We were outside all day soaking it up. The kids managed to bake cookies, sell all of them on the side of the rode along with bottled water, jump on trampoline with sprinkler underneath, go on a bike ride, play baseball, catch bugs and butterflies...I love summer! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Oh...so the ballerina bag, yeah it's a bag with chubby baby ballerinas all over it and it looks like a sparkly tutu..no big deal. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NjLVZOe1J4w/U1aCUXQ0m2I/AAAAAAAACbs/umZ75z0hmSw/s1600/IMG_4254.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NjLVZOe1J4w/U1aCUXQ0m2I/AAAAAAAACbs/umZ75z0hmSw/s1600/IMG_4254.jpg" height="400" width="362" /></a></div>
My mother in law was downsizing her fabric stash and gave me a bunch of adorable prints like this one. Since it was a ballerina bag I thought one layer of ruffle would be easy and would look like a ballerina tutu.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LxlUQDlUQoE/U1aCi6GvK7I/AAAAAAAACb0/Nma6OQozc30/s1600/IMG_4238.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LxlUQDlUQoE/U1aCi6GvK7I/AAAAAAAACb0/Nma6OQozc30/s1600/IMG_4238.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Aren't they precious? You can't tell in the picture but their little tutus are sparkly too.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
We are currently using the ballerina bag for piano books but it works great for church, dance or whatever suits your fancy.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I am in the process of making a farming quiet book for my boys..I started before we moved and am now just getting back to it but it is turning out sooo cute. More pics coming soon!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you're interested in making a ballerina bag for yourself (once again) I used Ashley's tutorial for her ruffled tote <a href="http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2012/06/a-ruffled-tote-aka-ellis-church-bag.html">here</a>. </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I painted my awesome table my husband made for me, he worked hard on this little table and I love it! So why do I call it a Swedish table? Well let me tell you...my Grandma's parents moved to the United States from Sweden in the early 1900's. A while back my Grandma was able to go back to Sweden to visit family. While she was there with one of our relatives they said they had a table that her Dad made when he was young and had left behind. She was able to bring it back with her, what an awesome surprise and I know my Grandma treasured her table. I have always admired it and so I had my husband make one for me.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-txbSDd2jpDE/UzNKMzjawjI/AAAAAAAACZU/tb6tzePeuwY/s1600/IMG_4221.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-txbSDd2jpDE/UzNKMzjawjI/AAAAAAAACZU/tb6tzePeuwY/s1600/IMG_4221.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
He had to cut each of these legs out and notch them in by hand.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
While we were painting the table I decided this little shelf my husband made a while back could use a fresh coat...now what do I put on it?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
The living room is coming together quite nicely. I am going to attempt a collage on this bare wall above the couch..I don't know why it is intimidating me?! We'll see how it goes...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
We purchased a table round from Home Depot for about 20.00, my husband had a few bed posts from another job and we cut one of them down to the size we wanted, I'm sure you can find these at Home Depot as well or something similar. The legs were cut out of 1" maple, I drew up the shape I wanted and used it as a pattern. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The legs should look this</div>

My sister and I were browsing around Hobby Lobby (love that store) and I found this little yellow bird..she had to be mine. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kVCUVIEaj0A/Uw9pEmUeR2I/AAAAAAAACYM/Vkzo5Ezy_SA/s1600/IMG_4187.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kVCUVIEaj0A/Uw9pEmUeR2I/AAAAAAAACYM/Vkzo5Ezy_SA/s1600/IMG_4187.jpg" height="296" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been wanting to recover the pillows on my couches for quite some time but haven't gotten around to it. They have definitely seen better days and my living room could use a little pop of color on those brown couches.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WRAgd9QES0A/Uw9pLm4aPVI/AAAAAAAACYY/SWbxaTZa84Y/s1600/IMG_4184.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WRAgd9QES0A/Uw9pLm4aPVI/AAAAAAAACYY/SWbxaTZa84Y/s1600/IMG_4184.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I went with a green/blue color for the big pillows and yellow to match the bird for the smaller pillows. I was going to make some yellow pillows but came across these already made, right color, great price and pattern and couldn't pass them up.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--uXg3Z4ITTs/Uw9pZZsYfqI/AAAAAAAACYg/mGVLsvDIrBU/s1600/IMG_4185.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--uXg3Z4ITTs/Uw9pZZsYfqI/AAAAAAAACYg/mGVLsvDIrBU/s1600/IMG_4185.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This pleated pillow does take some time but is very simple...just sewing straight line after straight line. I am loving how it looks all put together, we'll see how it holds up with the abuse we give it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TqMDw2g_aGs/Uw9pjfcCbmI/AAAAAAAACYo/7-w4GVNj_z8/s1600/IMG_4188.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TqMDw2g_aGs/Uw9pjfcCbmI/AAAAAAAACYo/7-w4GVNj_z8/s1600/IMG_4188.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My husband just finished making this Swedish table for me, if I could ever decide what color to paint it I would post it..I'm thinking a nice light blue like the pillows or off white...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You can find the tutorial for the pleated pillow <a href="http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2010/03/decorate-my-home-part-13-pleated-pillow.html">here</a>. </div>

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CimAkQ2IWGs/UufOQcis6SI/AAAAAAAACXI/OA4zThWmFA0/s1600/IMG_4100.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CimAkQ2IWGs/UufOQcis6SI/AAAAAAAACXI/OA4zThWmFA0/s1600/IMG_4100.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These old fashioned rag dolls have been on my to do list for quite some time. I decided they would make the perfect homemade Christmas gift for my girls so I got to work sewing while they were in school and hiding them before they got home (rather tricky).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ch8WH3SdFSg/UufOjizV72I/AAAAAAAACXQ/CyuS14nZFt0/s1600/IMG_4105.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ch8WH3SdFSg/UufOjizV72I/AAAAAAAACXQ/CyuS14nZFt0/s1600/IMG_4105.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I hand embroidered their little faces on, and was quite pleased with the result..I don't have much experience with embroidering.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w9jHlHHmwz8/UufOn8EV22I/AAAAAAAACXY/-5tKdLLBHhU/s1600/IMG_4108.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w9jHlHHmwz8/UufOn8EV22I/AAAAAAAACXY/-5tKdLLBHhU/s1600/IMG_4108.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They each ended up a little different which is kinda fun.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PcwsXc2b-Uc/UufOzpCQAVI/AAAAAAAACXg/aIHGbsFOHyQ/s1600/IMG_4104.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PcwsXc2b-Uc/UufOzpCQAVI/AAAAAAAACXg/aIHGbsFOHyQ/s1600/IMG_4104.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
The little details were my favorite part...you gotta love these sweet little mary janes on their feet.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5PD35Mfgf44/UufPC6dj92I/AAAAAAAACXo/2RWuhCPOt78/s1600/IMG_4109.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5PD35Mfgf44/UufPC6dj92I/AAAAAAAACXo/2RWuhCPOt78/s1600/IMG_4109.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I thought a Peter Pan collar would be fun for one of them.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tesa-co-Zck/UufPIeZP6KI/AAAAAAAACXw/FH4N-pKN4cs/s1600/IMG_4106.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tesa-co-Zck/UufPIeZP6KI/AAAAAAAACXw/FH4N-pKN4cs/s1600/IMG_4106.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My girls knew I was making the dolls they just didn't get to see them until Christmas morning so they gave me some input during the process...like I want mine to have long hair and a purple dress.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R1GHC9RAGgE/UufPRExZewI/AAAAAAAACX4/dbanVV3PS5k/s1600/IMG_4112.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-R1GHC9RAGgE/UufPRExZewI/AAAAAAAACX4/dbanVV3PS5k/s1600/IMG_4112.JPG" height="300" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They have absolutely loved these little dollies and it makes my heart melt...in the end all the time and effort was definitely worth it. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Like I mentioned before my camera was lost for quite some during the move so no tutorial for this one but Ashley over at <a href="http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2013/02/girl-boy-fabric-dolls-pattern-pieces-included.html">www.makeit-loveit.com</a> has an excellent one with printable pattern pieces. I just made a few adjustments to personalize them. (I made their bodies slightly bigger and their legs a little bit shorter) </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I saw a cute gift bag with the tie and tag and thought it would be fun to do one for each of them, I thought they turned out pretty darn cute.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
We filled them with all kinds of snacks...crackers, candy bars, gum, cookies, whoppers, basically chocolate..they're learning a new language..they need chocolate! </div>
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
(P.S. we lost our camera during the move...luckily we found it blogging is very difficult without it) </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Things have been a bit hectic around our house ya know two kids in school, dishes, laundry, Halloween costumes... oh and MOVING!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I thought about buying costumes this year but I don't know how people do it with more than one kid, those things are pricey. So with my house in shambles and boxes coming out my ears and garbage and junk everywhere...(I don't know how we accumulated so much STUFF)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am making costumes!!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I used <a href="http://thegirlinspired.com/2012/10/dorothy-dress-tutorial/">www.girlinspired.com</a> tutorial and it went together quite quickly..I never would have thought to put a dress together this way but it worked!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j0rsbYN1D8Q/Umk52s60GUI/AAAAAAAACU4/VIrDh1Jbh7A/s1600/IMG_3907.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="331" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j0rsbYN1D8Q/Umk52s60GUI/AAAAAAAACU4/VIrDh1Jbh7A/s400/IMG_3907.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I only had a little bit of fabric stashed away in storage and i used every bit of it...seriously! I think it was a yard and 1/2</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
I added a little bit of eyelet lace around the bottom of the gingham for a little extra fluff</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
We are on Harvest Break and the weather hasn't been cooperating...it feels like winter. So we needed a little project to keep us busy.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3wcCYYFkWSQ/UkRKTneZ81I/AAAAAAAACTU/QUky6B5z16w/s1600/IMG_3867.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3wcCYYFkWSQ/UkRKTneZ81I/AAAAAAAACTU/QUky6B5z16w/s400/IMG_3867.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A while back I made this <a href="http://crafty-couple.blogspot.com/2013/02/ice-cream-cone-chore-chart.html">Ice Cream Cone Chore Chart</a> for my little girl and a <a href="http://crafty-couple.blogspot.com/2013/03/have-another-chore-chart-today-my-ice.html">Bubble Gum Chore Chart</a> for my little boy, Ellie was feeling a little left out so we decided to make one during break, she came up with the cookie sheet idea and we went from there.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Vy9RR7IEisQ/UkRKNcQamWI/AAAAAAAACTI/HNvvEhEGLpM/s1600/IMG_3869.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="327" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Vy9RR7IEisQ/UkRKNcQamWI/AAAAAAAACTI/HNvvEhEGLpM/s400/IMG_3869.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GpVt0zN6fQ8/UkRKi-YLpgI/AAAAAAAACTg/ke2v--GKpSk/s1600/IMG_3865.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GpVt0zN6fQ8/UkRKi-YLpgI/AAAAAAAACTg/ke2v--GKpSk/s640/IMG_3865.JPG" width="480" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It started out pink which I really liked but the spray paint I used just chipped right off ughh so after about three attempts to make the pink paint work we gave up and scraped it all off and decided grey isn't that bad.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If anyone knows how to paint metal without it chipping off, I'm all ears!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Vx_1SXXHFgI/UkRKkqmpOlI/AAAAAAAACTw/GC5iuBQK8_A/s1600/IMG_3866.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Vx_1SXXHFgI/UkRKkqmpOlI/AAAAAAAACTw/GC5iuBQK8_A/s400/IMG_3866.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
We mod podged scrapbook paper for the background and brushed on a thin layer as a protective coating.<br /><div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XNCEbu4jmeQ/UkRKjdcrt_I/AAAAAAAACTk/E0acRhFTZ0M/s1600/IMG_3867.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XNCEbu4jmeQ/UkRKjdcrt_I/AAAAAAAACTk/E0acRhFTZ0M/s400/IMG_3867.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
A few decorative magnets just for fun.</div>
<br />

We printed the chores onto regular printer paper, cut them to fit and mod podged them onto the tiles. <br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
To add the ribbon make holes with hammer and nail.</div>

To turn a tube of fabric I use a safety pin hook it through one side of your tube and close. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bmt__fJVGSg/Ue8rYwjxrsI/AAAAAAAACJA/SSpjXbZvDnw/s1600/IMG_3537.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bmt__fJVGSg/Ue8rYwjxrsI/AAAAAAAACJA/SSpjXbZvDnw/s320/IMG_3537.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Turn it into the tube </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yXqzdfejRIU/Ue8rYXiKnJI/AAAAAAAACI4/pIBcU-y6vtc/s1600/IMG_3538.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yXqzdfejRIU/Ue8rYXiKnJI/AAAAAAAACI4/pIBcU-y6vtc/s320/IMG_3538.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
And start cinching your fabric along the safety pin until it reaches the opening.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7vemcPMMpwY/Ue8rfCT3SxI/AAAAAAAACJU/6As2_0acuwg/s1600/IMG_3539.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7vemcPMMpwY/Ue8rfCT3SxI/AAAAAAAACJU/6As2_0acuwg/s320/IMG_3539.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's it now pull it all the way through and iron flat. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VHhk9sJIw1g/Uj2sfulFULI/AAAAAAAACSY/qSeR8A9uYxY/s1600/fabric+pacifier+clips.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="536" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VHhk9sJIw1g/Uj2sfulFULI/AAAAAAAACSY/qSeR8A9uYxY/s640/fabric+pacifier+clips.jpg" width="640" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My sister-in-law is having a baby boy in a few weeks, she was in need of some binky clips...thank you Pinterest! ( I would have no clue what anyone needed without Pinterest)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I happened to have some clips in my craft supplies, I found them on sale in the spring, they were for keeping mittens hooked onto coats..apparently nobody thought they were a necessity cause they had a whole bunch of them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XwCvRwFt7Yc/Uj2sT6xphOI/AAAAAAAACSQ/19Q8OCzjf18/s1600/IMG_3837.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XwCvRwFt7Yc/Uj2sT6xphOI/AAAAAAAACSQ/19Q8OCzjf18/s640/IMG_3837.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Some of them were black and some pink so we ended up painting the pink ones with nail polish..which worked quite well.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are super easy all you have to do is cut a rectangle out of any kind of fabric you choose</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">2 1/2" by 12"</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Fold in half right sides together and sew to make a tube of fabric. Turn right side out. Need help with this? click <a href="http://crafty-couple.blogspot.com/2013/09/turn-tube-right-side-out-sewing-tips.html">here</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7m21pgMydSs/Ue8rbtTxY4I/AAAAAAAACJI/ZxK_NQ0FKNY/s320/IMG_3535.JPG" width="320" /> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now thread your fabric onto the clip </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6hNVZNH5Wbs/Uj27kNcXd8I/AAAAAAAACSw/2Sz9UUNVcQg/s1600/IMG_3858.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6hNVZNH5Wbs/Uj27kNcXd8I/AAAAAAAACSw/2Sz9UUNVcQg/s320/IMG_3858.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Fold raw edge under and pin. Sew a straight seam stitch across.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yX6TOg-wsPY/Uj27kNCdPBI/AAAAAAAACSs/dFmPcmo7c7M/s1600/IMG_3859.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yX6TOg-wsPY/Uj27kNCdPBI/AAAAAAAACSs/dFmPcmo7c7M/s320/IMG_3859.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now for the loop...we used elastic, ribbon, ric rac whatever you fancy. Turn in the bottom edges and tuck your loop right in and sew another straight stitch across. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MlKQHTMhsWA/Uj27jrkCgqI/AAAAAAAACSo/QNw-FDnU2p0/s1600/IMG_3860.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MlKQHTMhsWA/Uj27jrkCgqI/AAAAAAAACSo/QNw-FDnU2p0/s320/IMG_3860.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
All Done!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VHhk9sJIw1g/Uj2sfulFULI/AAAAAAAACSY/qSeR8A9uYxY/s1600/fabric+pacifier+clips.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="536" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VHhk9sJIw1g/Uj2sfulFULI/AAAAAAAACSY/qSeR8A9uYxY/s640/fabric+pacifier+clips.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
My husband spent two years before we were married in Chile on a mission for our church, if you're interested in learning more about our church check out there website <a href="http://www.lds.org/">www.lds.org</a>. He fell in love with the food while he was there and this salad is one of his favorites when we have fresh garden tomatoes. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I don't even like eating raw onion but for some reason it works in this combo. It is very simple and surprisingly really yummy! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Recipe</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> 1/4 sweet onion diced</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">4 lrg fresh tomatoes diced</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">3 tbs canola or vegetable oil </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">1 diced avocado (opt.) </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">salt to taste</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Combine all ingredients and mix well. Eat on top of sliced french bread or dip bread into juice. We usually just buy ours but if you want more of an authentic bread check out this recipe for Marraqueta. You can find the recipe <a href="http://www.recetasgratis.net/Receta-de-Pan-batido-marraqueta-chilena--receta-11766.html">here</a>.</span></div>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vxkQ726JFE4/Uio0Qr3EqdI/AAAAAAAACQQ/EjSQQMu9das/s1600/IMG_3820.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="520" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vxkQ726JFE4/Uio0Qr3EqdI/AAAAAAAACQQ/EjSQQMu9das/s640/IMG_3820.jpg" width="640" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I might be slightly obsessed with <a href="http://www.picmonkey.com/">pic monkey</a> ...you know the free photo editing website...it's the greatest..they have birds, twigs, flowers and anything you could ever want to put on or around a photo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XAVrZhYGuHA/Uio0TL7AeRI/AAAAAAAACQc/HZoQ6lNaAVU/s1600/PicMonkey+Collage+wrearh.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-XAVrZhYGuHA/Uio0TL7AeRI/AAAAAAAACQc/HZoQ6lNaAVU/s400/PicMonkey+Collage+wrearh.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once again I love pic monkey...making collages is super fun.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TY_MkgU0wCg/Uio0MTS9ZcI/AAAAAAAACQI/UGlzQ3xa-g0/s1600/IMG_3811.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="143" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-TY_MkgU0wCg/Uio0MTS9ZcI/AAAAAAAACQI/UGlzQ3xa-g0/s320/IMG_3811.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been looking everywhere for these flowers and haven't been able to find them for cheap enough until Walmart finally got them..they were only two bucks a sprig and they are quite long. I cut them into thirds for my wreath and only had to buy three sprigs.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kG56jQgIMtg/Uio0S2Pg_cI/AAAAAAAACQY/klnIf-7OGFk/s1600/IMG_3821.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-kG56jQgIMtg/Uio0S2Pg_cI/AAAAAAAACQY/klnIf-7OGFk/s320/IMG_3821.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you hadn't noticed I am super cheap/frugal/poor sooo I use cardboard a lot...cause it's free. I just cut my wreath form out of the cardboard..you can make any size you like.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4MPs-PzAC6k/Uio0i1WGgXI/AAAAAAAACQw/0ziEjDp3qto/s1600/IMG_3806.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4MPs-PzAC6k/Uio0i1WGgXI/AAAAAAAACQw/0ziEjDp3qto/s400/IMG_3806.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I cut a bunch of twigs from our yard about a foot and half long and glued them down and some spriggy things I found at the dollar store.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fTEjQ0OAdXA/Uio0ictGk6I/AAAAAAAACQo/6ssG2q_ExkY/s1600/IMG_3815.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-fTEjQ0OAdXA/Uio0ictGk6I/AAAAAAAACQo/6ssG2q_ExkY/s320/IMG_3815.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
You might want to place them on how you like before gluing down, just to get them evenly distributed.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used hot glue and I wondered how strong it would be...I had my original twig wreath for three years and it held up just fine. (inside the house)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-n65iuYAqCbw/Uio5AgkBHDI/AAAAAAAACRA/M5hiGZMyLXU/s1600/IMG_3820.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="325" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-n65iuYAqCbw/Uio5AgkBHDI/AAAAAAAACRA/M5hiGZMyLXU/s400/IMG_3820.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
You can add blossoms for spring leaves and gourds for fall like I did a few years back...this one was also made out of twigs from the yard and dollar store gourds and leaves.<br />
<br />
Total cost for these wreaths is about 6.00 to 10.00 bucks depending on how cheap you can find your add ins.<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used a medium weight pelon for my quiet book pages and a heavier weight for the cover, you can find pelon at most fabric stores. I traced my pages with a sharpie and used acryllic paint mixed with fabric medium to color them. For the pages I sewed around three edges leaving the bottom open and trimmed with pinking shears. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am planning on making a new farming quiet book for my boys, so I will make a more thorough tutorial with that one when I get it finished.<br />

He did a good job considering he grew up without sisters and doesn't care about clothing at all.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">He bought me this.... </span><br />
<div style="text-align: right;">
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">bless his heart, I felt like I was wearing a potato sack.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> </span></div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MbfzSjwFJLw/UgWOG90Xv-I/AAAAAAAACMw/06vso1b49PI/s1600/IMG_3645.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-MbfzSjwFJLw/UgWOG90Xv-I/AAAAAAAACMw/06vso1b49PI/s640/IMG_3645.jpg" width="518" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">Granted after baby number four it has taken quite a while to get even
somewhat close to back to normal..but I think my waste is coming back to
visit for a while so I'm gonna take advantage of this time. I have
shirred a couple of dresses for my girls in the past and thought it
might work on this shirt...I was rather pleased with the results.</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gNpfO87uhyU/UgVI6cRweAI/AAAAAAAACMI/nK-OQEpqvy8/s1600/IMG_3649.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="458" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gNpfO87uhyU/UgVI6cRweAI/AAAAAAAACMI/nK-OQEpqvy8/s640/IMG_3649.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
Easy fix...this took me about 15 minutes </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mJVN7jSgNss/UgVI9XtYOHI/AAAAAAAACMQ/rVJ6Bn4CTAM/s1600/PicMonkey+Collage+before+and+after+shirred.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="594" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mJVN7jSgNss/UgVI9XtYOHI/AAAAAAAACMQ/rVJ6Bn4CTAM/s640/PicMonkey+Collage+before+and+after+shirred.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This would be great for making maternity clothes as well, if you added the shirring just a little higher. You could also add it to the bottom for a different look.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You can find my tutorial for shirring <a href="http://www.crafty-couple.blogspot.com/2013/07/shirred-sundress-with-bow.html">here</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just mark your waste and add a few rows of shirring, I did about 10 rows spaced a 1/4 inch apart. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-O8H6-I4sOPE/UfwzPZRYN6I/AAAAAAAACKw/cMhRWSxhrvE/s1600/IMG_3634.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="512" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-O8H6-I4sOPE/UfwzPZRYN6I/AAAAAAAACKw/cMhRWSxhrvE/s640/IMG_3634.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's Back-to-School time...I absolutely love this time of year! Even when I was in school it was fun, mostly because I love buying school supplies. Anyway..I thought it would be fun to post this chalk board we made a while back. My kids have absolutely loved this thing for playing school, my oldest pretends to be the teacher and my two younger kids have learned a lot from her. I use it when we do preschool with my three and five year old, it makes it fun and a little bit more official.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v_GJkKRhKGY/UfwzYkiVcII/AAAAAAAACK4/7-qSRvCFAJA/s1600/IMG_3625.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="530" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-v_GJkKRhKGY/UfwzYkiVcII/AAAAAAAACK4/7-qSRvCFAJA/s640/IMG_3625.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found this cute little bucket in Target's dollar bins...when I saw it I knew it had to be mine but I didn't know why. It works perfectly for keeping the chalk and eraser...see I really did need it ;)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rYmQe8aXZIU/UfwzcqfwmII/AAAAAAAACLA/HeBHzvGem9c/s1600/IMG_3629.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-rYmQe8aXZIU/UfwzcqfwmII/AAAAAAAACLA/HeBHzvGem9c/s640/IMG_3629.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
I think the teacher has been having trouble with a certain boy in her class...he tends to be very wiggly and likes to bring food to class..like that huge bag of chips he's holding. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dBOwJAaikN0/UfwzgKs0-xI/AAAAAAAACLI/mQX3zO3Fz9c/s1600/IMG_3627.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dBOwJAaikN0/UfwzgKs0-xI/AAAAAAAACLI/mQX3zO3Fz9c/s640/IMG_3627.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
It ties in nicely with our <a href="http://crafty-couple.blogspot.com/2012/07/airplane-hanger-for-artwork.html">Airplane Hanger</a> we made last year for hanging artwork on. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3d0EtfCiOcI/Ufwzvxa672I/AAAAAAAACLQ/h4X2KmcI2rU/s1600/IMG_3628.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3d0EtfCiOcI/Ufwzvxa672I/AAAAAAAACLQ/h4X2KmcI2rU/s640/IMG_3628.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
These little airplanes go with the airplane hanger I just mentioned, they are a great project for preschoolers. You can find the tutorial <a href="http://crafty-couple.blogspot.com/2012/07/airplane-hanger-for-artwork.html">here</a>.</div>

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Written Tutorial</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sorry if you are a visual learner but I didn't take any pictures while we were making this, but it is quite simple. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We used an old piece of scrap bead board that was about the right size (1/4" MDF board). Paint it with chalkboard spray paint, I got mine at home depot. We also had some scrap trim leftover from another project and cut our pieces with straight cuts. Sand any rough edges then glue down to your chalkboard piece with construction adhesive.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UicVXCnk1Ng/Ufw4mtpDpZI/AAAAAAAACLg/i9dqPn253TI/s1600/IMG_3631.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-UicVXCnk1Ng/Ufw4mtpDpZI/AAAAAAAACLg/i9dqPn253TI/s320/IMG_3631.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Secure with staples from the back (make sure they are short enough to not go through to other side).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I painted my trim pieces afterwards but you could easily do it before, whatever works for you. I used an acrylic craft paint and did a couple of coats.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Super cheap and easy...or free if you hoard scrap wood like we do!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Wow summer is so so busy and flying right by, we have a summer bucket list going. One of the things on my list was to make some matching sundresses for my girls, yep I am one of those people that doesn't mind being matchy, matchy. In fact on little girls it is probably one of my most favorite things and I have to take advantage of this time when they aren't embarrassed so....<br />
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VqSRioOoVRM/Ue8bd-EWKtI/AAAAAAAACG4/qfDVdHf4ENw/s1600/PicMonkey+Collage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VqSRioOoVRM/Ue8bd-EWKtI/AAAAAAAACG4/qfDVdHf4ENw/s640/PicMonkey+Collage.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I saw these dresses on Ashley's blog over at <a href="http://www.makeit-loveit.com/">www.makeit-loveit.com</a>, she is amazing. These little dresses went together so quickly and didn't overwhelm me at all and that's saying somethin cause I have four kids eight and under...yeah these dresses are super easy!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MVkOlyfz2Kw/Ue8bkNLPXzI/AAAAAAAACHA/3ktikTGWQV0/s1600/IMG_3567.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-MVkOlyfz2Kw/Ue8bkNLPXzI/AAAAAAAACHA/3ktikTGWQV0/s640/IMG_3567.jpg" width="598" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The bow in the back is nice and fluffy and also serves a purpose in keeping the dress right where it needs to be. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_LWnr2B0Xtg/Ue8bs73AlHI/AAAAAAAACHI/dV4nMgi1RUk/s1600/IMG_3568.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_LWnr2B0Xtg/Ue8bs73AlHI/AAAAAAAACHI/dV4nMgi1RUk/s640/IMG_3568.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Awww they look so pleasant and they actually didn't fight at all during their photo shoot...major accomplishment! </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Like I mentioned before something about the matchy, matchy dresses just makes me giddy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zjqxs0A6XfU/Ue8cBiSZNtI/AAAAAAAACHg/_uYG7brQRI0/s1600/IMG_3573.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-zjqxs0A6XfU/Ue8cBiSZNtI/AAAAAAAACHg/_uYG7brQRI0/s640/IMG_3573.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
They are also very functional...play dresses, church dresses, swimsuit cover ups...whatever you want dresses.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I bought two yards of my patterned fabric and still had plenty left over. Depending on the size of your subject you can easily get one dress out of a yard of fabric.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cut your fabric 1 1/2 to 2 times the chest measurement, you want the dress to be full enough but not so full that the shirring won't cinch snug around the chest. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hem one edge of your fabric, I just kind of eye ball it folding over the fabric and ironing as I go. Fold it over twice. Do this to the bottom of your dress as well, I did a narrow hem for the top and wide for the bottom.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nveomYXnz04/Ue8irENxFJI/AAAAAAAACIE/-gbBOcUnjwc/s1600/IMG_3527.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nveomYXnz04/Ue8irENxFJI/AAAAAAAACIE/-gbBOcUnjwc/s320/IMG_3527.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now sew your fold down with a straight stitch.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hAwj0TgMfJQ/Ue8inisDHTI/AAAAAAAACH4/QSE_qZpE4fY/s1600/IMG_3528.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-hAwj0TgMfJQ/Ue8inisDHTI/AAAAAAAACH4/QSE_qZpE4fY/s320/IMG_3528.JPG" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Fold the fabric in half, right sides together with your hem at the top and sew.(sorry, no picture for this)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now we are ready for some shirring, which looks like smocking but is super easy. You will need some elastic thread that looks like this. You can find it at most fabric stores.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h0-gDb7opeY/Ue8ix8dxWvI/AAAAAAAACIc/tu-jjdfZMhU/s1600/IMG_3531.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-h0-gDb7opeY/Ue8ix8dxWvI/AAAAAAAACIc/tu-jjdfZMhU/s320/IMG_3531.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For the shirring the elastic thread will be in your bobbin and regular thread on top like normal. The elastic thread has to be wound onto the bobbin by hand, which doesn't take long at all. You don't want it to be tight or loose just in between.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RjIby5j0re8/Ue8iwgmLd1I/AAAAAAAACIU/kCU39EKCMZU/s1600/IMG_3532.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-RjIby5j0re8/Ue8iwgmLd1I/AAAAAAAACIU/kCU39EKCMZU/s320/IMG_3532.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
Load into your machine like usual, I did bring the elastic thread up by hand rather than letting my machine do it for me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jY_ygjYemcU/Ue8il3XBsiI/AAAAAAAACHw/KKFUiEEVA8A/s1600/IMG_3529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jY_ygjYemcU/Ue8il3XBsiI/AAAAAAAACHw/KKFUiEEVA8A/s320/IMG_3529.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
The stitch used for shirring is a regular straight stitch set at the longest length. (this is what works for my machine but may need to be adjusted) Start shirring right on the top of your hem stitch, being sure to back stitch to knot your thread or you could tie it by hand.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For the next row line the outside edge of your foot up with your last row of stitches, I have found this to be the perfect spacing.... of course you could adjust it to your liking.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0ZBL41F48hI/Ue8itVaJK2I/AAAAAAAACII/9PcFriNXZdg/s1600/IMG_3530.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0ZBL41F48hI/Ue8itVaJK2I/AAAAAAAACII/9PcFriNXZdg/s320/IMG_3530.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You may not notice it bunching up until about your second or third row of stitches. On my first dress I cut my threads after each row and then moved to the next, on the second dress I just sewed in a spiral all the way to the end and it worked just fine and went a lot more quickly.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IyOegQb0nTI/Ue8i08gxpWI/AAAAAAAACIg/Fy6DXZ00_20/s1600/IMG_3533.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IyOegQb0nTI/Ue8i08gxpWI/AAAAAAAACIg/Fy6DXZ00_20/s320/IMG_3533.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Be sure and kinda pull your fabric flat as you go...this is what makes it bunch up. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>I did about 18 to 20 rows for my dresses, a dress for a baby or toddler would only need about 8 to 10</i></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PBUg3AD2ewo/Ue8i2Q2GA8I/AAAAAAAACIo/FNQpvRbf3Kc/s1600/IMG_3534.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PBUg3AD2ewo/Ue8i2Q2GA8I/AAAAAAAACIo/FNQpvRbf3Kc/s320/IMG_3534.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once you're finished shirring all you need are some straps and loops to hold the straps. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For the loops cut a rectangle of fabric that is about an 1 1/4" by 6". Fold in half right sides together and turn.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7m21pgMydSs/Ue8rbtTxY4I/AAAAAAAACJI/ZxK_NQ0FKNY/s1600/IMG_3535.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7m21pgMydSs/Ue8rbtTxY4I/AAAAAAAACJI/ZxK_NQ0FKNY/s320/IMG_3535.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
To turn a tube of fabric I use a safety pin hook it through one side of your tube and close. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bmt__fJVGSg/Ue8rYwjxrsI/AAAAAAAACJA/SSpjXbZvDnw/s1600/IMG_3537.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-bmt__fJVGSg/Ue8rYwjxrsI/AAAAAAAACJA/SSpjXbZvDnw/s320/IMG_3537.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Turn it into the tube </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yXqzdfejRIU/Ue8rYXiKnJI/AAAAAAAACI4/pIBcU-y6vtc/s1600/IMG_3538.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yXqzdfejRIU/Ue8rYXiKnJI/AAAAAAAACI4/pIBcU-y6vtc/s320/IMG_3538.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
And start cinching your fabric along the safety pin until it reaches the opening.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7vemcPMMpwY/Ue8rfCT3SxI/AAAAAAAACJU/6As2_0acuwg/s1600/IMG_3539.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7vemcPMMpwY/Ue8rfCT3SxI/AAAAAAAACJU/6As2_0acuwg/s320/IMG_3539.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
That's it now pull it all the way through and iron flat. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eo117CLNaxw/Ue8rhPpgZOI/AAAAAAAACJg/XkjMiwxOkZ0/s1600/IMG_3541.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-eo117CLNaxw/Ue8rhPpgZOI/AAAAAAAACJg/XkjMiwxOkZ0/s320/IMG_3541.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The straps will be done basically the same way but bigger. I cut two strips of fabric 45" by 4". Fold in half right sides together sew and turn right side out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xUfyBfYR4Co/Ue8rmBw5joI/AAAAAAAACJw/I5re9lUg_Dg/s1600/IMG_3536.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xUfyBfYR4Co/Ue8rmBw5joI/AAAAAAAACJw/I5re9lUg_Dg/s320/IMG_3536.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You'll want to finish the ends of the straps by tucking them in and sewing.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had my little girl put the dress on so I could get the right placement and pinned the straps and loops on.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-51g6s7AJM98/Ue8usTLK7uI/AAAAAAAACKE/kkCfIVp0VQM/s1600/IMG_3543.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-51g6s7AJM98/Ue8usTLK7uI/AAAAAAAACKE/kkCfIVp0VQM/s320/IMG_3543.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Pin the loops on like this </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w1gwP4HMm-A/Ue8uuS-exGI/AAAAAAAACKQ/ZfQVY4Yp6LM/s1600/IMG_3545.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w1gwP4HMm-A/Ue8uuS-exGI/AAAAAAAACKQ/ZfQVY4Yp6LM/s320/IMG_3545.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now sew two straight lines through the strap to secure it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5Qc25rhlhss/Ue8u0n9VS_I/AAAAAAAACKY/uC65xnVExJY/s1600/IMG_3546.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-5Qc25rhlhss/Ue8u0n9VS_I/AAAAAAAACKY/uC65xnVExJY/s320/IMG_3546.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
And do the same for the loops. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wRWIKZhE738/Ue8u0zFfOiI/AAAAAAAACKc/6jhFyCG7NQI/s1600/IMG_3547.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wRWIKZhE738/Ue8u0zFfOiI/AAAAAAAACKc/6jhFyCG7NQI/s320/IMG_3547.JPG" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Trim all your threads and that's it enjoy your new sundress.</div>
