American Girl Doll Hangers

My girls each got an American Girl doll for Christmas this year and lots and lots of little outfits and dresses that I found for cheap at a craft fair.  We have had them in a pile in their room for a while now and needed a ward robe of sorts...so I am turning my old armoire into a wardrobe for all their stuff.

In order to hang up all the dresses and clothes I needed some hangers...some teeny tiny hangers!

I looked at wal mart...didn't find any and thought about looking around for some at a few other stores but my husband wasn't exactly on board for that so I gave up...and then stumbled upon a tutorial for these little gems.

Only problem was they used metal hooks that screw in..didn't have any and didn't want to got to town for those so I thought to myself...self where can I find some hooks of some sort?   As I was hanging up some clothes I  noticed this little hook on the hanger...perfect.

You will need extra large popcicle sticks(tongue depressors), some little hooks from your hangers, hot glue gun and some wire cutters or trimmers of some sort.

You will need three sticks for each hanger...use your trimmers to cut out the middle section of one of the pop cicle sticks.

Hot glue both pieces and your hook onto a pop cicle stick then glue another stick on top.

Now you're ready to decorate...

We used scrap book paper for some and painted the rest...I really like the way the scrap book paper looks on them.  We used mod podge to apply it and put a coat on top to make them a little more sturdy.

Now go hang up some doll clothes with your new tiny doll size hangers...FUN!

Super Saturday

We spent almost all day Saturday out in the shop cutting, gluing, nailing....in preparation for our Church's Super Saturday, which is quickly approaching.

The crafty man whipped out his saws and nail gun and went to work.

We made seven of these...if you're looking for something really affordable and easy to put together these are definitely the way to go.

And we put together 22 of these..I didn't have pictures in when I took this but there is a groove cut into each piece of trim so you can slide your pictures in.  When I finish mine I will post a tutorial and some better pics.

We made it a family event and it went a lot faster with all those hands...even the little hands were busy and quite helpful, most of the time;)

Diy Heat Pad and Hand Warmers

My kids and I put these together over the weekend, we started with the heart hand warmers for my little school girl to keep in her pockets on those cold winter mornings.  And I must have football on the  brain after watching two games with my husband so I put together a heat pad for my little boy to take to bed with him.  My girls have some made out of fabric that they take to bed every night.

Written Tutorial
These are pretty self explantory and were really easy to put together, make a heart and football shape pattern on paper.  Cut four heart shapes and two football shapes, for the football you will need white markings.  Zigzag stitch your markings on to the football and zigzag your two football pieces together leaving an opening to add rice, add the rice with a funnel and zigzag the hole shut.  The hearts are done the same way except I used a straight stitch.

Farmer's Market

Getting ready to sell at a Farmer's Market is a lot of work and we didn't even have that much stuff!

I made a couple more pairs of shoes

Black shoes with red sole and bows

I came up with some last minute packaging for my shoes
(baggies and scrapbook paper)

Pioneer girls excited and ready to go

All set up and waiting for customers to come, the girls sold jam, brownies and water and almost every penny they earned they spent at another booth.

Who could resist buying something from these two!?

All my shoes and flower clips.

My wreath on display looking rather see through and less than full.

My wreath after adding some local shrubbery!  Shhhh no one noticed because I sent my girls to pick it.  Doesn't it look better?

Vintage windows and Mac's picnic tables

Some children were quite helpful with the packing up, others not so much!

It will probably be a while before she comes to the Farmer's Market she was a little burned out and I was too.
